If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.

Thanks to all of you who joined us for one of the smoothest ski trips Rich has ever run.

Friday night started the weekend off with out a hitch. Lenny, the world’s coolest bus driver, was waiting for us at Metro Park, so we loaded up and got on the road right on time. There wasn’t a whole lot of traffic, so we made it to Montvale in good time. We were at the hotel by 10:30, so we started that open bar early this year.

We woke up to snow on Saturday, which I’m sure was a welcome sign for the skiers. Those who didn’t ski found other ways to entertain themselves. I know there was snow mobiling, snow tubing, horseback riding and quite a bit of shopping. Then everyone made it back to the bar for the Après Ski Party and beer pong, courtesy of Earl and Spud. When the open bar ended at 6 o’clock Earl announced that it was time for a pool party.

After dinner we all convened in the bar for Rich’s show, which started with a comedian and then we moved on to the regular Rich Meyer Show fare of few body shots, an appearance by Janet Jackson, a bachalorette, and a guest singing appearance by Lisa, our Adventures Representative.

After the house band went on for their set, Rich tool a few minutes to fix a few technical difficulties and when they finished up, Rich came back for the dirt and he finished up the night with a real rarity; Rich on piano with everyone gathered around for Piano Man.

We all eventually made it to bed (really late) and then some of us managed to get up to go snow tubing on Sunday morning. Some people got up even earlier to go skiing. Then when we were done, we all met in the bar for more beer pong.

All good things must come to an end, so we all packed up and loaded the buses, but before we left we had to get our group picture.

Rich had one more surprise planned for the bus ride home, though. Rich’s mom’s birthday happed to fall during the ski trip and we were going past her house on the way home, so Rich thought it would be fun if we all stopped by to sing “Happy Birthday”. If nothing else, it’s a birthday she’ll never forget.

Things finally quieted down as we made our way home and Greg and Rich put on the weekends videos. Eventually we all had to say our god byes, but the good thing is we know we’ll all see each other soon at another Rich Meyer Show.

There are a lot of people to thank for make this weekend a success. First Rich and Carol for pulling together another great ski trip and Greg for getting it all on videotape. Our bus driver Lenny and Lisa, our Adventures Unlimited Rep. Also, everyone at the hotel from Adventures; George, Ray, Ron, Troy, Judy, Lance, Hillarie, Scott and the G.O.D. for the weekend, Jeff. Of course we need to thank the second most important people to the success of a Rich Meyer Ski Trip: The BARTENDERS!! And the biggest thank you goes to the most important people to the Rich Meyer Ski Trip: all of you who joined us, for making it a success and another really fun weekend!

See you at a show soon.
